For the Good of Mankind? Is Off To The Printer!

If you’ve been checking my blog and haven’t seen any new posts recently, I have a good excuse: I’ve been finishing up edits for my new YA nonfiction book, which is now finally off to the printer! I bet you think the book is about astronomy or some other science, which is a logical guess given my other book and articles. But this time, you are wrong.

FOR THE GOOD OF MANKIND? THE SHAMEFUL HISTORY OF HUMAN MEDICAL EXPERIMENTATION (forthcoming October 1st from Lerner) tells the story of human medical experimentation from ancient times through slavery, World War II, the Cold War radiation experiments, and up to the present. Because many marginalized people, such as orphans, the mentally ill, prisoners, women, and African Americans have been subjected to experimentation, the book raises many important ethical and historical issues for students to ponder.

Can’t wait to receive my author copies in July!
